PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in the development of survey methodologies and implements research projects as directed by the Senior Director.
  •  Collaborates on survey development, execution, analysis, writing and reporting of quantitative and qualitative research projects.  Performs data entry for the purpose of updating existing reports and development of new reports.
  • Assist with the annual data collection for and preparation of the AAVMC’s Comparative Data Report.
  • Assist with the annual development of online, dynamic public data presentations, such as but not limited to Public Data Report.
  • Assist with all AAVMC meeting and program assessments.
  • Maintains and safeguards the confidentiality of personal information in accordance with AAVMC policy.
  • Provides staff support to various AAVMC committees as assigned (scheduling meetings, taking minutes, preparing meeting materials).
  • Travels occasionally to conduct or present research at AAVMC member institutions and affiliated organizations (approximately 1-2 times per year).
  •  Provides minimal administrative support as needed (updating presentations, coordinating events, drafting correspondence).
  •  Assists the Senior Director in managing the DiVersity Matters Initiative:
    •  Assists with research and program development.
    •  Reviews scholarly literature related to diversity, equity and inclusion in higher education.
    •  Assists with podcast scheduling and pre-post production tasks

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four-year degree with prior research experience, preferably in academic policy, economic research, or related field
  • Proficiency in Excel is required (e.g. formulas, pivot tables, graphing, and table manipulation)
  • Basic experience with data analysis is required
  • Proficiency in online survey tools such as Qualtrics is required.
  • Professional or academic experience with statistical software (e.g. SPSS, SAS, R STAT) is preferred
  • Survey development and construction is preferred
  • Quantitative analysis experience is required; experience with qualitative analysis is a plus
  • Proficiency in Tableau and other dynamic data presentation programs is preferred
  • Database experience (MS Access and/or SQL) is a plus
  • Experience with MS Office programs and internet communication is required
  • Excellent writing and problem-solving skills is required
  • Adept in overseeing multiple Data and Diversity project timelines and deadlines
  • Visionary, big picture aptitude with innovative and creative ideas and solutions
